We are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking Head of Estates to lead the strategic and operational management of our College estate. With three vibrant campuses, this is a pivotal role for a dynamic professional who can ensure our buildings, facilities, and environments fully support our mission to improve lives through education, training, skills, and development.

About the Role

As Head of Estates, you will take full responsibility for the performance, safety, and development of all College sites. You will lead the delivery of high‑quality facilities management services, ensuring our estate is safe, compliant, efficient, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

Your leadership will be central to maintaining statutory compliance and building safety across all campuses. You will ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are consistently met, while driving continuous improvement in the way our estate operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for estates and facilities management across all three College sites.

  • Ensure full statutory compliance, building safety, and adherence to all regulatory standards.

  • Implement effective systems, processes, and technology to enhance performance and service delivery.

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, building users, contractors, and service partners.

  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring environments are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.

  • Promote sustainability, efficient resource use, and environmentally responsible estate management.

  • Lead and develop the Estates team to deliver consistent, high‑quality services across all campuses.

Our estate is central to the student experience and the success of our College community. By ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant, and inspiring places to learn and work, you will directly support social and economic progress for the communities we serve.

You will bring:

  • Strong leadership experience in estates or facilities management, ideally across multi‑site operations.

  • A deep understanding of statutory compliance and building safety.

  • The ability to build effective relationships and influence at all levels.

  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • A passion for creating sustainable, efficient, and high‑quality environments.
